• Forex/travel card — the workhorse. Lock in a rate, spend like a debit card, top up online. Best for most spending.
• Some local cash — always carry a little for taxis, tips, street food and places that don't take cards.
• UPI abroad — increasingly accepted (UAE, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Nepal and more), but don't rely on it as your only option yet.
